Radiation Safety Surveys
Intended for:
- Diagnostic Imaging Facilities
- Radiation Therapy Facilities (Linear accelerators, HDR rooms, etc.)
- Nuclear Medicine (PET) Facilities
For newly-constructed diagnostic imaging facilities, a radiation safety survey is required to ensure the shielding provided in the walls, doors, and windows for this room are adequate to meet all applicable Federal and State requirements.
Many facilities (i.e. fluoroscopic) in California require additional measurements of patient effective exposure rates. These inspections and measurements must be completed before the diagnostic imaging facility is used for patient examinations.
