Lead Glass and Leaded Acrylic

LEAD GLASS
NELCO lead glass sheets provide for viewing windows in areas where radiation is present. Sheets are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and thicknesses, and supported by NELCO lead-lined window frames.
Standard lead glass is in 1/16” and 1/8” lead equivalency. They are not tempered and must be handled carefully to avoid scratching and breakage during movement, installation, and cleaning. For safety purposes, NELCO also offers shatter-resistant, laminated lead glass. This type of glass meets the high safety standards established in the medical, industrial, scientific, and nuclear industries.
As an alternative, NELCO also offers leaded acrylic products. NELCO leaded acrylic sheets are unique, lead-infused plastic sheets containing 30% lead by weight. They have a very light brown tint, with physical properties similar to those of conventional acrylic resins.
