One product being highlighted at the show is MegaShield, NELCO’s modular vault system. This system of vault building has proven to be both time saving and cost-effective – the blocks can be made during the permitting process, making them pre-cured by the time the system is erected. This reduces the schedule significantly, since finish work can be started as soon as the blocks are in place.
MegaShield is becoming the preferred vault construction for cancer centers around the United States, due in part to tax incentives from the 2008 Economic Stimulus Package; because the vaults are dry-stacked, the system can be relocated, it can be assessed as capital equipment, allowing for accelerated depreciation.
