NELCO BRINGS MEGASHIELD™ BUNKER SYSTEM TO BRACKNELL HEALTHSPACE
LONDON – NELCO, the worldwide leader in designing, manufacturing, and installing specialized products and services for the medical, industrial, and construction fields, has started construction on two of Bracknell Healthspace’s newest LINAC bunkers. For the project, the NHS chose to use NELCO’s innovative MegaShield™, a modular bunker system.
Unlike past modular bunker systems, NELCO’s MegaShield™ system is truly re-locatable. The bunkers are created from channel-locked concrete blocks, which are then dry-stacked, allowing for future removal. MegaShield™, which has been used in the United States for several years, has proven to be time saving, as well as effective – because the blocks come cured, there is no waiting for drying time, reducing the schedule significantly.
